Peace, Passion, Purpose
“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” – Albert Schweitzer
Notes from Michelle
Happy Friday EPMS Families,
This week the staff and I participated in a Gratitude exchange. We took some time to reflect on how grateful we are for each other on this campus. Taking a few moments to actually sit and contemplate all of the qualities that we appreciate in those in our life each day, allows us to move beyond our momentary concerns to concentrate on positivity. Then receiving those small notes that let us know how we impact those around us also allows a moment of joy. I encourage you to share your appreciation of those in your world as well.
As I reflect on what I am grateful for and for whom I am grateful, I am of course drawn to thoughts of Eagle Peak. I am continuously grateful to have the opportunity to share days with your children. They are the “why” in everything we do. I am grateful to each of you, the families, of these children. Thank you for trusting in the Montessori method and in those of us at Eagle Peak to be a part of guiding your child as they grow. Thank you so much for being a part of Eagle Peak Montessori School.
We hope that you have a happy and healthy time with friends and family over the next week.
Michelle.
Students Sent Home Sick
News from the Office
So many Reminders:
When your child is sick, please remember to call (925-946-0994) or email (Admin@eaglepeakmontessori.org) the office. Thank you.
Covid Testing- Please note that we must receive the results of a Covid- 19 PCR test. We cannot accept the results of a rapid test. Thank you for your help with this.
Please avoid calling the office during carpool (M, Tu, Th, F 2:45-3:00 and Wed 1:40-1:55p), there is a good chance you will get disconnected due to the children performing their carpool tasks over the loud speaker.
Please remember to send your kids to school with their water bottles.
Please print and return the attached Breakfast Calendar if you will be participating in the December Breakfast program.

News from The Gratitude Group
Hello Eagle Peak Families and Friends. Due to some confusion between our Staff Appreciation group and the Staff Appreciation week that we have later in the school year, we have decided to “rebrand” ourselves. Going forward we will collectively be known as (drum roll please) the Gratitude Group. Families who wish to show their appreciation throughout the school year, sign up in advance to bring food items, flowers, beverages, notes, etc. for the staff to enjoy once a week. It is a simple and lovely way to express our thanks and appreciation for all that they do for our school community. It’s also an easy way to tally up some much needed volunteer hours for all of us. Since we do need to be cautious this year with how and what we provide, here are just a few suggestions on simple and effective ways to go about showing our gratitude:
- Bring flowers in for the breakroom and/or all of the individual classrooms
- When shopping for groceries and you see a great deal on a bulk item (beverages, granola bars, muffins, organic fruit, etc.) buy extra and bring it in to the break room with a little note of appreciation and where they are stashed if placed in the fridge or freezer.
- Bring a bag of your favorite individually wrapped candy or treats to let our EP staff know how special and sweet they are
Please note, for the time being we are steering clear of food prepared and cooked at home. Count your time spent driving to the store and time spent delivering your gifts to EP as volunteering. Added bonus, enjoy that heartwarming feeling of knowing that you have brightened someone’s day. Interested in getting on board? Please contact Jen Slattengren ASAP.
Notes from the CCC (Community Connection Committee)
Thank you to everyone who completed our survey earlier this year. It’s clear from our observations last year as well as your responses on the survey that International Day is best as an in-person experience. Also this year there is not a distance learning (Zoom) learning structure in place, so for these reasons we will not be having a virtual International Day like we did last year. We’ve been trying to figure out if there are any viable options for an event that follows Covid safe protocols, but we don’t have this information yet. As soon as we know more about what our options are, we will inform the school community and reach out directly to those who have expressed interest in being part of the CCC or International Day specifically. Thank you!
