Staff Recognition Highlight
Mr. Doan teaches 6th and 7th grade math. He has taught math and physical education at Hemlock Middle School for 22 years. He is a Hemlock High School graduate. His family includes wife, Robin and son, Dawson, who is in 7th grade.
Mr. Doan attended the University of Evansville, Grand Rapids CC, and SVSU, where he played college baseball and earned his Bachelor’s degree. He likes to spend his spare time coaching baseball and golfing. He had a great summer coaching Dawson in The Cal Ripken (baseball) Experience. His favorite quote is, “You either get better or you get worse, you never stay the same.” Mr. Doan’s all-time favorite places visited are Petoskey, MI and Pigeon Forge, TN.
Jeremy loves teaching, saying he is proudest when students ask questions and then a light bulb suddenly turns on in their mind. He believes in his students’ potential and strives to be consistent and decisive and to listen and show empathy about personal issues. He strives to be a good listener and learner, to communicate well with people from all walks of life and to have a good sense of humor, and a pleasant approach. Mr. Doan is a well-organized, efficient, and professional person.
GIRL'S BASKETBALL RESULTS
Results for 12/16 game:
7th Grade - The 7th grade girls basketball team won their game against Bullock Creek. 38-23! Lilly Martinez had 10 points, while Klaira Salo and Carly Siler added 6. Great games girls!8th Grade - The girls dropped a tough game to Bullock Creek by a score of 48-22. The Huskies kept it close in the first half by scoring more points than they did in the whole game the first time these 2 teams square off. Kylee Miller scored 8 points while Sophia Hauffe and Riley Lafrance hit for 5 each. Emma Streich added a basket and Logann Clayton and Madi Penny tacked on a free throw each.
Results for the 12/17 final game of the season:
7th Grade - The 7th grade team finished a winning 10-1 season with a huge victory over Ithaca 43-17. The girl's hard work and dedication paid off for a great season. Way to go HUSKIES!!
8th grade - The 8th graders ended their Middle School careers on a winning note by crushing the visiting Ithaca Yellowjackets 51-15. The Huskies took it to the Yellowjackets early and often with their smothering defense and fast paced offense jumping out to a 32-11 half time lead and only allowing a bank shot 3 pointer in the second half. Kylee Miller outscored the whole Ithaca team with 16 points while Riley lafrance also had double figures with 10. Sophia Hauffe scored 6 points with Logann Clayton and Mya Wunsch adding 4 each. Nataly Bodziachowski had 3 points and Corrina Gomez, Payton Sullivan, Madi Penny and Jaedyn Mallek all had 2 points a piece.

Attention all 7th & 8th grade Boys!!!
The 7th grade will practice from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm, followed by the 8th grade from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. All boys MUST be signed up on FinalForms and have a valid physical turned into the High School office.
The $105.00 sports fee is due before the 1st game. Pictures will be taken on Wednesday, January 15th at 3:00 pm.
The winter sports parent/athlete meeting will take place on the same day (January 15th) at 4:30 pm in the Middle School Cafeteria.
