This campaign, "Drink, drive and score a date with a blonde" was made to limit drink driving which is a major influence in the number of road fatalities in Australia to this day. In 2014, 309 people died on NSW roads. The analysis showed 11% of fatalities in recent years were attributable to driving under the influence of illicit drugs and 15% to driving under the influence of alcohol.
Alcohol in the Blood
In Australia you are drunk when you have 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. During the 12 months ending in December 2011 there were 1,292 deaths on Australian roads from all causes. This is 4.4% lower than the next year ending in December 2010.
