Inclusion Opportunities at The Perry!
Students in grade 4 have also been collaborating with their Peers in the 3/4 special education classroom! On Fridays, students in Ms. Toth and Ms. Mulenga's class have been working together to create tasty treats and recipes. Ms. Toth's students have also been working on creating animal reports that will allow students of all abilities to be able to access and read their reports.
All of our students have been working on their patience, tolerance, and including people with different abilities. Way to go Sharks!
The Super Bowl of Reading
While the Chiefs and Eagles are set to square off on Sunday evening, many Perry Readers have been reading their way to success in the Perry's Super Bowl of Reading. Through two weeks, Perry Readers had totaled 49,949 minutes. Our last day for this friendly competition will be Monday, February 13th -- please remember to send in your Week 3 Trackers. Of course, please continue to encourage your child to read over the last few days of our "Super Bowl" and beyond. Amazing work Perry Readers!!!

Black Excellence Bingo!
This week, we are launching Black Excellence Bingo to recognize and celebrate Black Excellence Month. To participate, students are encouraged to complete a row of activities or go even further and "cover all" / complete every activity. The activities are each designed to take in the range of 5 to 20 minutes. Family members are certainly able to help out and participate as well.
We will distribute paper copies of the "Bingo Cards" on Monday, February 13th and ask that all completed (or partially completed cards) are submitted by Friday, March 10th. We will also send these Bingo Cards out electronically on Monday as well, so you can access the links. While there will be a raffle as a small incentive, the ultimate goal is to encourage as many of our students as possible to explore, learn and have some fun through this project.

A Few Thoughts On School Safety At The Perry
In recent weeks, we have had a few families check in based on what we have unfortunately all seen on the news in regard to both mass violence events on the national level and some smaller, but distressing events in Boston area schools as well. For the benefit of all, we wanted to share the pieces that we are prioritizing each and every day to ensure that we have the safest school community possible. Please see the Perry Safety Update 2.9.23 linked here.
