Fashion designers typically need an associate or a bachelor's degree in fashion design. Courses in basic art and design are also helpful.
Experience in art, and to know some things about marketing, advertising, and business.
Work Experience needed
Because of the global nature of the fashion industry, experience in one of the international fashion centers, such as Milan or Paris, can be useful. Some experience in business is also helpful.
The average salary in a year for a fashion designer is about $62,860.
What I Would Do
Draw up all the designs for my clothing line and choose the fabrics for each design. I would also wear and display my clothing in different fashion events such as fashion week in Milan, Italy or in Paris, France.
