Virtual Read Against Racism Kick Off!
Please join us to celebrate the beginning of our community learning journey, Read Against Racism! We are thrilled to have special performance guests, Riders Against the Storm, along with host Bavu Blakes from the Cultural Proficiency and Inclusiveness Department, to lead our kick off event! Read Against Racism is powered by these truisms to which we will strive:
*Black Lives Matter
*We are all in this together and need to be strong, courageous allies, aka ANTI-racists.
*Reading is empowering and is one of the most important tools we have with which to learn the truth and fight oppression.
*Art and music help us process trauma and our community has experienced a LOT of trauma - May the power of art and music help us heal and keep our spirits up!
*We are thankful and supportive of local artists and organizations who are facilitating creative, empowering, courageous acts to help take us to the next level... what beautiful role models!
