I sent an email to K-4 teachers about meeting with a group of district personnel on Monday during your conference period. I found out some more information and you are NOT meeting with all of the folks I mentioned in the email. You will only be meeting with members of the C&I department (coaches ) to provide feedback about the curriculum. Lindsay Anderson, Leanne Shivers, Sara Koprowski and Dawn Bailey will NOT be a part of the meeting. I misunderstood the information sent my way but I was able to get clarification last night.
Another part of agenda is to discuss what we all want our PD topic to be for our Bobcat Gathering. If you have some ideas, please share that with your team leader as well. You all have had some great conversations about SEL. We want to continue to offer topics that YOU want to talk about so that our Bobcat gatherings are meaningful AND provide more time to talk to other grade level teachers.
Finally, I will not be on campus Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. I was surprised with a last minute trip out of town to celebrate my birthday with my husband and some of our closest friends. I will be back at school on Thursday.
Copy Update
Remember, starting in November you will be able to see your budgeted amount on both copiers. When planning with your team, I want you to look at what you are wanting to copy. If it can be recreated in a journal or on a piece of notebook paper, don't make a copy. If it is just something for kids to color, don't make a copy. We have Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up and I don't want you to use up copies for just a decoration. If it's a word find, word search, crossword puzzle, don't make a copy.
I do understand that this may be a stressful request but I just need all of us to really be mindful of what we are copying. I would rather spend campus money on things like Guided Reading books, batteries for Science experiments, math manipulatives, Lucy Calkins Writing, and/or the cost of a sub for when we are planning with our team or with a learning coach.

APEX Remix
This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 or more so that we can purchase Chromebooks and classroom libraries. As a campus, we would love to put enough computers in every classroom so that every child has access.
