Lincoln Bulletin
Monday morning we had our Veterans Day assembly in the gym. This assembly was to honor veterans. We had several scout groups involved reading poems to presenting the colors and leading the pledge. We welcomed veterans who were family members along with seniors from Geneva Place, a local retirement community. The veterans expressed the joy they experienced in being honored through songs, poems, and sentiments from our Lincoln students. Thank you to Ms. Moline, Mr. Salano and Mr. Mkrtschjan for leading the scouts, Ms. Beetstra for planning and organizing our students in the songs, and our students and staff for respectfully honoring those in attendance.
In addition to honoring our veterans, this week was filled with extra learning opportunities and experiences. On Tuesday several families and some staff went to Aurora to pack food at Feed my Starving Children. This was an awesome experience to share with my daughter and show the importance of volunteering to our young students. Thank you, Lisa Moline, for organizing this event.
We also had a group of seniors come and read with students on Thursday after school, another wonderful mentoring and relationship opportunity for our Lincoln students. Again, today is Friday and at Lincoln, we welcome our Watch D.O.G.S. who are visiting our classes and supporting our students during lunch and recess. Thank you, Mr. Abts, and Mr. Reilly for visiting Lincoln today.

5 Essentials survey-Please give us your feedback
Parent Satisfaction Survey
Every year, District 303 conducts a satisfaction survey that gives us meaningful feedback from our students, teachers and parents. As part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) we are participating in the statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about Lincoln School.
The Parent Survey is currently open and will remain so through February 14, 2020. To take the survey, please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey.
We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to provide Lincoln School with your input!
TOYS FOR KIDS
In the main office, you will notice a toy collection box for the Jim Wheeler Toys for Kids Program. This program, serving in partnership with the Salvation Army, collects unwrapped toys to distribute to students in need within our community. For those wishing to contribute, please drop off an unwrapped toy to the toy drop box in the main office by Friday, December 12th.
