Volunteer Needs
Teacher Appreciation - Donations Needed for Stock the Staffroom
Conferences are coming up, which means long days of Zoom Calls for the Nancy Ryles staff. Let's help treat them during this time and stock the staff room.
Please use this link, on SignUp Genius, for more information and to help out.
Book Fair
We could use your help! This year the book fair was planned by a very gracious parent of a Nancy Ryles Elementary alumni. While she loves helping out, she’s ready to move into her new role of Middle School Parent and volunteer there. We are looking for someone to train with her this year, learning about the role of Book Fair Lead and then to take over this position next year. Please contact volunteer@nancyrylesco.com for more information.
All volunteer opportunities are posted on Better Impact.
Staff Spotlight
We are happy to celebrate National Principal Month this October and celebrate our very own - Principal Monica Arbow. This is Mrs. Arbow's third year as Principal at Nancy Ryles Elementary School. Her dedication to staff and students is apparent in all of her work. We are lucky to have her at our school! Check out the NRCO for the spotlight on Mrs. Arbow.

2020-2021 SCHOOL PROFILE
Our 2020-21 school profile is posted on our school webpage under About Us>School Profile>Oregon Report Card. There is also a link on this page to school profiles for other years and other schools. The 2020-21 district profile is posted on the district report card webpage.
State report cards began when the 1999 Oregon Legislature passed a law requiring every public school and district to receive a report from the Oregon Department of Education about how they are performing overall. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015, replaces the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and affords states greater flexibility. ESSA encourages schools and educators to innovate and create systems that address local needs. As a part of this work, the Oregon Department of Education redesigned the School and District report cards to engage and inform families about their school’s approach to learning, academic and extracurricular offerings, and student performance. Reports cards also serve as an important tool for continuous improvement planning by local and state policymakers, in conjunction with the communities they serve.
The 2020-21 school and district profiles do not include statewide assessments data, class size data, or attendance data as a result of the necessary statewide school closures and the implementation of Distance Learning for All. The profiles present all available data not impacted by the state’s response to COVID-19. As part of the federal response to COVID-19, all students in our school were eligible for free school meals last year. As a result, our Free/ Reduced Price Lunch percentage is reported as >95%.
At Nancy Ryles Elementary, WE are committed to using this information to help tailor our school improvement plans and academic programs to meet the needs of every student. You’ll find our current school improvement plan here: https://www.ode.state.or.us/data/reportcard/reports.aspx?id=1303.
During the year I will communicate with you frequently about student achievement and programs in place at our school to foster student learning and success.
If you have questions about our report card or would like a print copy, please contact me. You may also have suggestions for improvements. Please share them! Thank you!
CHROMEBOOKS AND iPADS
Please remember to send the charger with it as well.
Thank you so much for helping us get the devices back to school!
TALENTED & GIFTED (TAG) INFORMATION
Every year students are considered for Talented and Gifted services in the Beaverton School District. These services are provided by your child's classroom teacher(s). Oregon law and District policy define gifted students as those who score at or above the 97th percentile on a standardized, nationally normed test of mental ability and/or academic achievement in reading and/or math. Behavioral, learning, and/or performance information is also considered before a student is identified for TAG services.
If you think your child might qualify for TAG services, you may wish to complete the Parent Information Form that is available in our school’s office linked below. Completing this form gives our school TAG Committee more information about your child, but it is not required. All qualified students will be considered regardless of the form’s completion.
Please complete and return the Parent Information Form to your the office. The date of the letter is incorrect but the form is correct.
Contains current information from Oregon Department of Education (ODE), Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Washington County Public Health.
