Host family Dinner Announcement:

This winter, we have an exciting opportunity for our Toll Gate families! This year, our school has partnered with the International Partnership of Education Research and Communication (IPERC) to expand our interactions with students and educators from China, and to help share the cultures of our respective countries to truly develop global learners.

Currently, students from Tangshan No. 26 Middle School are preparing to visit Toll Gate Middle School, January 14th-16th. In total, there are 9 students (7th/8th graders) and 2 teachers coming from Tangshan and they will be spending 3 days visiting and shadowing students at the school.

For this exciting opportunity, IPERC is searching for families interested in hosting these students for dinner on Wednesday, January 15th. A huge component of their experience in the US S is to immerse themselves in both activities and family life; in this way, the host family dinner component of their journey is incredibly important – it’s typically their favorite experience while in the US! Host Families are expected to pick up the student(s) after school, have dinner for them and then transport them back to their hotel in the evening by 7:30 PM. In addition, every family will be given a $15 stipend per student. In order to keep students together, we are hoping that families are willing to host 2-3 students.

This is a wonderful opportunity for both the students and host families to broaden their global perspective and make new friends! If you are interested, please fill in the following registration form and send it to our IPERC program director Rachel Fullin (rachelfullin.iperc@gmail.com). If you have additional questions, please contact Rachel Fullin at 614-553-8513 Office/ 614-499-3958 Mobile.
