Thanksgiving Lunches
Due to the long lines that we typically experience on these days, I encourage you to pack a lunch for your student on the 18th. We will be having a picnic lunch in the classroom as the cafeteria tables will be reserved for parents and students in grades PK, K, 2, and 4. Students will still be able to purchase from the cafeteria if needed.
First grade will be having our Thanksgiving lunch on the 19th. If you signed up to eat lunch with your student, you will be eating in the cafeteria! The students that are not eating with parents, will be eating lunch in the classroom. Again, I encourage those students that will not be eating with their parents to bring their lunch so that they can avoid long lines in the cafeteria. Students will still be able to purchase from the cafeteria if needed.
Specials
Please also make sure that your students brings their library book to school daily. They are allowed to read them while waiting to enter class in the morning. They are also able to visit the library to exchange books on days that they do not go to the library during specials. They do need their library books on the days that they go to library!
Writing
This week we will be taking the story elements that we created last week and putting them together to write a story.
We have stories about magical dogs, dinosaurs, evil kings, and many more!

We talked about Veterans Day and also began talking about Thanksgiving customs. Mrs. Poindexter (Navy Veteran) came into our class and discussed what Veterans' Day means to her and told us about her experiences in the Navy. The students enjoyed getting to ask her questions as well!
This week we will continue to talk about Thanksgiving and compare the first Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving today.
ENJOY YOUR THANKSGIVING BREAK!
