Large Group Fellowship and Announcements

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

--Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV)--

What a lovely picture. Our God can "make a way in the wilderness and a river in the desert." I hope you have all had a wonderful and productive second week (yep we are still at the point where we can remember what week it is). For many it may have started rough and only gotten worse, but continue to rely on the Lord, draw in strength from His word and from communion with Him in prayer.

This Friday we will be welcoming Dr. Paul Larson. He will speak to us on the strength that come through having a Christian worldview because of Christ's resurrection. He has spoken at many colleges and universities on this very subject, so I hope that we garner a lot from it as well.

Remember, it will be in SMC E117 at 7:30PM.

Discipleship!!!

For those of you who do not know what this is:

  • It is a program here at IVCF where you apply to be either a disciplee/mentee, discipler/mentor or both.
  • We then pair you up with a discipler or disciplee.
  • This is a way to build one another up in faith. It also helps to have older Christians in your life, or to have younger ones, as you can both learn a lot from one another.

I have see many people be so blessed by the bond they share in doing this, and how they blossom in grace.

I highly encourage you to step out in faith and apply, but be prayerful, always, and follow God in where he wants you to go and what he wants you to do.

We have forms available in the IVCF closet that you could pick up this Friday. There is also a GooggleDoc that you can print out, fill out and bring to Large Group by no later than the 22nd of January. You can also drop it by my K-box, #760.
