Library Book Check Out Information
Our first round of LMC student book check out occurred this week. Students will be able to check out books from the LMC every 2 weeks.
How LMC Book Check out will work:
Kinder-2nd grade students:
Via Seesaw students will fill out a book choice menu.
Every 2 weeks, they will use this book menu to choose from a variety of topics, genres, and favorite authors. Students may choose the number of books they will be able to read over a 2 week period. The book menu’s topics will change every 2 weeks.
If your child would like a particular book title, please send those requests to Mrs. Boyle via Seesaw.
3rd – 5th grade students:
Via Seesaw, students will receive an assignment that includes a step-by-step of how to log into, search for, and put a book on hold using Destiny Discover. Students will be able to put on hold as many books as they will read in a 2 week period. The video is linked here as well. https://www.loom.com/share/abd84b30343a4245b0e55cfb459269d3
Stay tuned for information about returning procedures once you are finished enjoying your books.
Future Book Check Out Dates & Information:
Pick up checked out books on Tuesday 9/22 and Thursday 9/24 during lunch from 11:30am – 12:30pm and at the end of the day from 1:30pm – 2:30pm. If these times don't work, please contact the office to make other arrangements.
3rd – 5th graders will also be given a book choice menu as an option to choose from if they would like to use it.
Once you have submitted for book check out, Mrs. Boyle will send you a message in Seesaw letting you know which day your books will be available for pick up.

Mustang Mindset: Perseverance
This past week we discussed in the classroom and during our morning announcements about perseverance. We talked about how we can keep working to overcome challenging and not giving up when things are tough. We read the book A Little Spot of Perseverance: A Story of Not Giving Up by Diane Alber.
Thank you families for persevering through helping your students at home. We know technology doesn't always cooperate in addition to other things out of our control. Thank you for your patience and grace as we continue to push ourselves into this new approach to learning.
Stay Safe @ Home 129
Sincerely,
Mrs. Neahring

Student Attendance in Virtual Learning
With the nature of virtual learning, there will be a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning sessions, including scheduled small group sessions. Live sessions will be recorded and will be made available to students and parents if they are unable to attend. On a daily basis for student attendance, we will be assuming positive attendance for each student. If a student is not present for a live lesson and/or does not engage with assignments on Seesaw throughout the day, the student will be marked absent. Staff will maintain communication to follow up on items that may have been missed during the absence.
If a student is unable to participate in virtual learning for the day, please contact the office at 630-301-5002 to report their absence.
