Important events, deadlines, etc...

*Thank you to all grade level leaders for attending the voluntary wish list meeting last week. We had some excellent discussions about the focus of our purchases being based on curriculum. We will be finalizing approved purchases over the next month.

*We will begin to announce Terrific Timberwolves on Tuesday, February 9th during the morning announcements. Please send the students to the office to receive their award and have a picture taken for our display case.

*The Hi-Five Patrol has been selected! Our students started last week and are already doing a wonderful job! A new set of Hi-Five Patrol members will be selected and announced on Tuesday, February 9th. Please encourage all 4th grade students to submit the patrol application (via google forms).

*Who wants a Co-Teacher?? I am looking for a classroom/teacher to co-teach with for a Science/Social Studies unit. As the district is building these units we would work together to create a unit. We would also be assisted by the PD department as needed. If you are interested please send me an email!

*SATURDAY SCHOOL: Thank you for your student referrals for Saturday School! Please be sure that you have reached out to the students parents and that they will be expecting the contract and information to be sent home.

*Yoga for Relaxation on Tuesday, February 2nd at 2:55pm in the Gymnasium. Please join us!

*Farm To Table: Individual Class Visits will be held on Friday, February 12th. This is for classrooms that requested a presentation.

*WWPS School Committee Meeting, Thursday, February 11th at 6:30pm in the John F. Deering Middle School Media Center.

*Winter Recess: February 15th-19th

*Jump Rope for Heart: Ms. Oullette will be facilitating the Jump Rope for Heart activities with her PE classes beginning the last week in February. We will be disseminating information for families during the week of February 22nd-26th. All students will attend a short assembly on Thursday, February 25th hosted by The American Heart Association. The assembly will be in the cafeteria for grades K-2 from 9:00-9:30am and for Grades 3-4 from 9:30-10:00am.

*Our Next BLC Unconference will be held on Monday, February 29th. The SIT team has decided to use this BLC as a place for us to collaboratively reflect, edit and begin to build the WHES School Improvement Plan. This plan serves as an integral tool outlining the goals and objectives for our school building. Your voice is important and we want input from ALL members of our school community. We would like to extend the invitation to our Teacher Assistants, Janitorial Staff and Office Staff to attend this meeting voluntarily. Please sign up in the following document for an area of the SIT plan that you feel you can provide evidence for and most interests you. Please see myself or Joanne Pigott, SIT Chair with any questions. DRAFT (I am still adding details):

*** Reminders***

*Please arrive to school on time by 8:00am in the morning. If you are running late for any reason please call the office so that we can be sure your class is supervised until you arrive.

*Please arrive with your class on time to lunch and specialist classes. If you are unable to arrive on-time due to unforeseen circumstances please notify the office, cafeteria or specialist teacher.

*Outdoor/Indoor Recess will now be decided consistently among all three of our Elementary schools. Each week a school is in "charge" of the decision and it is shared with all three schools. We will notify you by 10:00am of each day regarding recess. Please call the office if you take your students out for recess before this time and check before going outside.

*Please add any events/ assemblies that you may plan to the WHES google calendar. This helps to avoid conflicts when events are being planned for Wakefield HIlls. If you are unsure how to do this please feel free to see me.
