Boonville High School
January 7, 2022
Dear Boonville Pirate Families:
Welcome to the start of the spring semester. The start of a new semester gives each student a fresh chance to stay on top of their grades and attendance. It's a clean slate for each student to become their very best. This week we witnessed many students taking full advantage of this reset. Keep encouraging your student to do their very best.
As explained in today's video, BHS is returning to the pre-pandemic attendance policy. After a student's 8th absence in a class, students will be expected to make up attendance hours to earn credit in the course. Students can make up hours daily in Room 105 from 3:00-4:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00-12:00 p.m. Saturday make-up time counts as a full 7-period school day. School-sanctioned events are considered approved, thus do not count towards a student's 8 absences.
For example, if a student consistently misses 1st hour, missing 12 classes of 1st hour, they would need to make up 4 hours of class. If a student has missed 12 full days of school, they would need to make up 28 hours or 4 Saturdays.
Thank you for partnering with us to help your student succeed. We truly want what is best for each student here at BHS!
Juniors Take Accuplacer Test January 11
Juniors will take the Accuplacer test on January 11.
The ACCUPLACER test is often required by many post secondary options, trade schools, technical schools, the military, and four year colleges/universities for placement into specific courses or programs. Please make sure your junior attends. This is also a graduation requirement.
