What is the plan for Parent Teacher Conferences?
We will schedule all conferences through Calendly. Limited space is available for sign up and we encourage you to sign up early. Parents will have three options: a virtual student-led conference on Microsoft Teams, a phone student-led conference with the teacher, or a face- to-face in the classroom with the student and a teacher. In-person conferences will be limited to two adults and one student attending.
What do the three options look like?
Virtual Conference – Virtual conferences will take place on Microsoft Teams. Once you sign up for a conference time, you will receive a verification email and meeting link. This link will be the link to the meeting. The staff member you are holding the conference with will admit you and your student into the meeting once your time arrives. We recommend being two to three minutes early for the conference. It is our recommendation that you use your student’s computer and Microsoft Teams account to access the meeting.
Phone Conference – Those choosing a phone conference will receive a call from the teacher at the time you selected. When you sign up for the conference, be sure to provide the correct phone number for the teacher to call. They will call that number at your designated time. The phone call will come from 712-279-6804. Please be ready to answer the phone call with your student.
In-Person Conference – We ask that you limit those attending to two adults and your student. Masks are optional, although we strongly encourage unvaccinated individuals or those individuals who prefer to wear masks to do so. We will not have staff members at the doors directing parents/guardians to rooms. Students must accompany parents/guardians for in-person conferences.
How do I sign up for a conference?
To sign up for a conference, you will visit the Calendly link sent via student email. Your student will also bring home the name of the teacher you need to sign up with and the link to their Calendly Account by Wednesday, September 22. Sign up via student email for a time that works for you and your student. When you sign up, you will indicate what type of conference you prefer (virtual, phone, or in-person). Once you have completed the sign up, you will receive an email confirmation of your time. For virtual conferences, the link will be in the confirmation email and on the student’s Microsoft calendar.
Thank you for your consideration and patience as we try new ways to connect with each other.
