"Learn 2 Love 2 Learn (L2L2L)" Kevin Honeycutt

We made it...the first full week of school in 4 weeks. Last week I was fortunate to attend a technology conference in Raleigh, NC. There are so many great things I want to share with you, but I do not want to bombard you, so I will be sharing a few here and there.

If you need help or information, make sure to email me anytime or stop by my office! I am happy to help you plan, implement or brainstorm.

Do you ever have days like the man below? I am so happy Spring is here.

"AnswerGarden is a new minimalistic feedback tool. Use it for real time audience participation, online brainstorming and classroom feedback." Many of you may have used Wordle or a similar word cloud creation tool. This allows all of your students to answer a question and create a word cloud answer. Check it out here.

Next Vista For Learning

"Next Vista for Learning is focused on helping teachers and students share insights creatively using technology. They have a wide variety of videos created by students and teachers all across the world. There are over 1,000 videos free to access. The organization also has video contests that might interest your students or you.

"Expect everyone to be great, and start educating from that angle, and things can be very different.” Yong Zhao

Do you find difficulty finding time to call people back because they talk for a long time?

Well if you answered yes above, I have the tool for you. People can be social by nature, but as a teacher that is not always a great thing. You need to return a call about a missing HW assignment but only have 6 minutes between class. The assignment has been turned in and graded. You could call and be on the phone for a long time, or you can use SlyDial. "SlyDial is the voice alternative to text messaging. It can be used to make communication more efficient." It is super easy and might help you either "deal with life's awkward moments" or more importantly brag on your students.

This tool allows you to call a number and be sent straight to the voice mailbox. Pretty Amazing.

As a parent, I would want you to call me to discuss some thing that would require us to work together for my child. But if I just needed to know they did their work or better yet, that they were awesome in class today, I would prefer a voice message.
