Sadie's Sleigh Toy Drive
Blanton Elementary is once again partnering with Sadie’s Sleigh this year to collect toys for children fighting Cancer in area hospitals. We will be collecting children’s toys for Infants to Teens starting December 4th until December 15th. All toys must be NEW WITH TAGS and UNWRAPPED.
Please see the flyer below for information about Sadie’s Sleigh.
If you would like to donate to Sadie’s Sleigh, please send your toy donation with your child to place in the boxes at the end of their hallway. We will be collecting by grade levels with a surprise for the grade level which collects the most.
National Honor Choir Singers
Please join us in our excitement about the National OAKE Honor Choir. Three of our students, Makenzi Boccoleri (5th grade) Edie Knight (5th grade) & Olivia McDonald (5th grade), were selected to join this prestigious group. What an honor it is to be selected for this national opportunity. These students auditioned in October and have been working with Mr. Miranda during their lunch period to prepare for their auditions. Five singers were selected from Denton ISD and 3 of them are from Blanton. That speaks for their talents and the direction of Mr. Miranda. Makenzi, Edie, and Olivia are three of the best singers in our district.
In March, they will travel to Oklahoma City and perform at the OAKE National Convention. We are immensely proud of them and wish them well!
Noble Knights
Matthew Jewell exhibits the Noble Knight trait of leadership because his teacher, Mrs. McDonald, can always count on him to do the right thing without any reminders. He is constantly setting the example for his peers. His classmates watch him and follow his lead and because Matthew is a leader many children know they can go to him for help. Matthew leads by example by doing his own work independently. However, he is also a great partner to work with. He knows how to help his friends without just telling them what to do. He listens and pays attention and because of this, he is able to help others that forget how to do something. When changing from one thing to the next, Matthew is always one of the first ones to continue with learning. Matthew is a great friend and leader and Mrs. McDonald is very grateful to have him in her class.
Lauren Nagel shows leadership every day in Mrs. Elizalde’s class. She always does the right thing and is quick to help others when they need it. She is kind and her classmates know they can look to Lauren to help them or answer any questions they have. Mrs. Elizalde can count on Lauren to set a great example every day. Thank you Lauren for being a leader!
