Student Wellness Survey
A similar survey was administered to students in grades 6-12 in December of 2016 and February 2019 and the District recorded a high response rate which we hope to achieve again. The survey will be completed online and will be anonymous (i.e. students will not put their name or identifying information on the survey). The survey will be administered during class and we anticipate students needing 20-30 minutes to complete the survey. We would like all students to participate, but the survey is voluntary.
Students may skip questions they do not wish to answer and students may stop participating in the survey at any point. You can click here to review the survey before you consent. If you have any questions, please contact the Supervisor of Student Health & Well-Being, K-12, Lisa Lattarulo (llattarulo@chatham-nj.org).
Please sign in to the Parent Portal and select ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to show that you do or do not give permission for your child to take part in the survey. If you have more than one child in school, each child will need their own permission. Only students whose parents/guardians have given active consent will be permitted to participate in the survey.
Please respond to the survey in the Parent Portal by Friday, April 30th.
Spring Mini Marathon 2021
It’s time for the LAF Mini Marathon! Mini Marathon is typically a beginning of the year LAF tradition. This year, our Mini Marathon will look a little different but it will still be a friendly competition to promote healthy habits and exercise. During the weekend of May 15th -17th, students that sign up for this fun event will put away their devices and get outside to run/walk a mile in their neighborhood. Families are encouraged to join. This is a friendly competition between switch classes in each grade to see who can get the most class participants to run/walk 1 mile.
How to Participate:
- Students interested will sign up in class with their teacher.
- Switch classes will be partnered. Example: Grobert/Damiano will be a team.
- Kids will take a picture after they complete their run/walk and submit their picture to their PE Classroom: Mini Marathon Assignment by May 18th.
- Have a phone app that calculates where you walked? You can submit a screenshot of that too!
- You must submit your picture for your run/walk to be considered a participant. No picture. No credit for the team.
At school:
- Students will receive exercise and healthy tips a few times a week during LAF Live beginning on May 3rd to help them prepare for their run/walk.
- Classes will participate in a door decorating contest to promote health and wellness.
The winning team with the most participants gets an ICE POP PARTY! We will have a winning 4th grade team and a winning 5th grade team. All the children that participate will have their name put in a raffle for a chance to win a prize. Prizes will be gift certificates to support local businesses. (Scoops, Namkeen, Arminios, Yo Lotta, etc).
