The DCSD Office of Sustainability is happy to offer mini-grant opportunities to increase sustainability initiatives at your school. The mini-grants will be awarded in the form of supplies requested, up to $400 per request. Schools may submit more than one grant request.

Deadline: March 1, 2020 - we will review and fund accepted grant requests as they come in. If funds run out, grant requests will be rolled to the following school year. It is recommended that you request grant funds as soon as you can, even if you will not need delivery of items until later in the school year.

Criteria: Project goals should increase or enhance sustainability for our schools/students. Mini-grants that will directly affect student learning and are integrated into the curriculum will receive priority.

Grant amounts: Requests may be for any dollar amount up to $400 used to purchase materials for your sustainability project. Schools will receive materials requested.

2020 Colorado Academic Standards - Resources to help integrate sustainability education with the new standards!

We have been working to bring you a variety of resources and ideas for how to teach the new state science standards using environmental education. This folder contains lesson ideas and sustainability connections for grades K-8 (high school coming soon!): Grade Level Resources and Lessons aligned to the 2020 CAS

Did you know that if you have a garden, every student can use it for at least one of the grade level standards? Sustainability initiatives can often reach students at multiple grade levels. See how everything fits together here: Sustainability Vertical Alignments

We develop all of our programming based on what teachers and schools are asking for. Please take the 3-minute survey to let us know what your school is doing and what plans or ideas you have. We will also use this information to send you grant and resource information. Thank you to the 30 schools who have already responded! Sustainability Champion Survey
Thank you for supporting sustainability in your school!

Here is a snapshot of sustainability initiatives in DCSD schools. We are here to help with your sustainability initiatives however we can!
