Glen Lake News for Staff
May 13-17, 2019
As the days get longer and spring activities ramp up for our students, let's do our best to keep our regular routines in tack and keeping our focus on the learning opportunities that lie ahead. If they begin to sense a countdown and letdown in expectation and rigor, their behavior changes...and usually for the worse. We have some great things going on in our building in May!
Thanks to Jaime Rossmiller for allowing a has-been trombone player join the 6th grade band for their concert!
Out of the Building
I will be out of the building the following times this week:
Monday, May 13th - Elementary Principal's Meeting - 1:00-4:00 (I am hosting, so I'll be in the building)
Class Placement/Spring Data Meetings
Fire Drill
Our Fire Drill, followed by a Lockdown Drill, has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th at 10:40 am.
Spring Arts Festival
The event will feature artwork from each child, along with music and dance performances, piano recitals and complimentary ice cream in the cafeteria.
*We are no longer able to use the kitchen's freezer and will need to store the ice cream in the staff lounge. Please remove your items from the freezer on Wednesday and take them home.
Senior Day
On Friday, May 31st, around 10:15 am, former Glen Lake students that will be graduating from Hopkins High School will walk down our hallways in their caps and gowns. Last year was the first time we did this, and it was a very special and fun experience for all. Glen Lake students will line both sides of the hallway, and the seniors will walk by and high 5 our students. It will go quick, and learning will be resumed. The seniors may stop in to see former teachers, so be ready for that.
