BABY BUMP WATCH - REVEAL
Staff News!
- Congratulations to the subject of our next Baby Bump Watch: Mel Grigsby, Fifth Grade Teacher! She and Joey are expecting a boy in September!
- Welcome back, Melina Henry (2nd grade teacher)! Melina, Mitchell, and Savannah welcomed little sister Campbell earlier this year. While Campbell and Savannah are probably not thrilled that Melina is back at work, we are!
- We are so fortunate that Lindsey Eipper served as Melina's supply (for the second time) and that her class did not miss a beat while she was out!
- Laura Radcliffe (fifth grade teacher) is due on April 1st! Fingers crossed that she makes it until Spring Break (no fooling!)! She, Justin, big sister Cooper, & fur kid Huntley will welcome Palmer Grace soon!
- Brittany Fagan (MOID teacher) is scheduled to return April 16th. She spent her maternity leave enjoying her first born, Eston! Cool fact: Brittany's DAD will be taking care of Eston when she returns to work!
- Caitlin O'Neill (supply teacher extraordinaire - 1st Grade, 4th Grade, MOID) will move into Radcliffe's room in time to administer the Georgia Milestones and will finish out the year in 5th grade. Caitlin is truly amazing - any of the teams with whom she has worked can attest to how hard she works, how she is invested in the kids, and how much of a pleasure it is to call her a colleague!
- The SSA position (Jaime's job) is changing. All SSA's will now serve two schools. We will keep you posted as we receive more information.
BUCCANEER BRAVOS
- ENCORE, Amanda Gardner & 3rd Grade! The performance at PTA on Thursday was out of this world as we navigated around the world on a musical journey through space and time!
- THANK YOU, Kellie Oakes, for delivering the inspiration at the PTA meeting (The Lesson of the Butterfly) and encouraging parents to see the value in the struggle!
- TAKE A BOW, PE! Based on a scheduling snafu on our part, (gym was taken for registration, cafe' was taken for extended 3rd grade performance practice, our PE teachers were once again without a learning space and had to rally in the frigid weather on the turf. Thanks, PE, for being awesome!
- HATS OFF to our The Office Staff! 86 new kindergarten Buccaneers were registered on Wednesday, and Cherie, Linda, Maribeth, and Annie made it happen! Registrations continue Tuesday and Thursday mornings...job security!
- BRAVO to Heather Kindschy, Marycatherine Rinaldi, and our PTA for running an amazing Bedford Falls Book Fair! The final total sales are over $27,000!
- WAY TO GO, ALL! This round of TPV's provided us with valuable input, insight, and a vertical look at how Writer's Workshop builds from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. A special shout-out to Jill for modeling a lesson study for the second time. This was our last TPV of the year. Next year's focus will be on conferring.
