Thank you to all families that were able to donate to the NJ Community Foodbank for our Valentine Food Drive. It was wonderful to see the front lobby filled with donations. Thanks to Mrs. Erezuma and her homeroom for promoting the food drive and for loading the truck!
ONE SCHOOL, ONE BOOK KICK OFF!!!
Introducing: The Smartest Kid in the Universe by Chris Grabenstein
When Jake spies a bowl of jellybeans at the hotel where his mom works, he eats them. But those weren't just jellybeans, one of the scientists at his mom's conference is developing the world's first ingestible information pills. And THAT'S what Jake ate. Before long, Jake is the smartest kid in the universe. But the pills haven't been tested yet. And when word gets out about this new genius, people want him. The government. The mega corporations. Not all of them are good people!
For the next 4 weeks, I'd like everyone to set aside a little time each night or weekend so your family can participate in this special school-wide project.
I am asking parents and students to take turns reading the weekly assigned pages at home with their child/children. Even if your child has read this book before, One School, One Book allows a reread to be more exciting and interactive as a family. That's right, the whole family! In school, there will be time for the students to turn and talk to answer trivia questions about the book. We will also share and post puzzles for the students to solve for prizes!
Thank you to the PTO for supporting this program by purchasing a book for every student. The PTO is also hosting Chris Grabenstein for our Author's Day at the end of March.
Read to page 74 by Friday, March 3rd
Chris Grabenstein will autograph each book purchased when he comes on March 29th. Submit your order to the LMC by March 6th.
LAF Read-a-Thon... Starts Today!
The LAF Read-a-thon is like a jog-a-thon, except your child will be reading books instead of running laps, and earning pledges based on how much they read. Pledges can also be made for a fixed dollar amount. Everything is tracked online, which makes inviting sponsors and logging reading much easier! The LAF Read A Thon will start today (February 27) thru March 24, 2023. Our goal is to read more than 500,000 minutes as a school by March 24th.
Your students will come home with login information today. Once you input your information (email or phone number) you will have to authorize your information. This ensures that your information and your child's information are protected. See below for our weekly reading goals and weekly school-wide prizes.

Coming Soon! Our 5th Graders will be registering for their Cycle & Elective Courses at CMS. More information to follow. Preview the courses by clicking the above title.
