Happy November!

Petrova has had a fabulous month! From field trips, to enrichment programs, to the after school program, Petrova is a wonderful place to be! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers, teachers, and staff who make Petrova amazing. Just a reminder as the weather is becoming cooler to have your children come to school ready to play outside in the morning and for recess. Please LABEL all items of clothing; including gloves, hats, coats and boots. We already have a large amount of clothing in the lost and found. We encourage students to wear boots if there is snow on the ground, and to bring sneakers for recess and gym. This month we will be having our Scholastic Book Fair from November 15-26th. It's a great way to purchase books for your child. Also later in the month it's time to meet with teachers for Parent/Teacher Conferences. We look forward to seeing you!

Let's Celebrate the Harvest!

SLCSD-Farm to School Initiative

  • Food tastes better when it's fresh. When fruits and veggies are tastier, we are more likely to eat them! And so...
  • We are healthier! We feel healthy. Our bodies are healthy. We can learn better when we feel better.
  • When foods taste better, we become open minded to new taste experiences. New ways of eating also open us up to new cultures and food traditions, new people too!
  • Buying locally grown food helps our local economy. The farmers are our neighbors just like any other neighbor.
  • We get to go outside and play in the dirt in the garden!
  • We get to learn how to grow and cook these foods. Life skills that can you can have forever!
  • Everyone deserves good food. School is working hard to provide healthy food to all children.

Mrs. LaDue and students from NCCC present to 1st Grade about bones and x-rays!
