O Christmas Tree
Votes and Gifts Due This Week!
Vote for the Aquin Art Tree
Aquin's Senior High Art Students have decorated a tree for the FHN Community Festival of Trees at the Freeport Public Library (100 W. Douglas Street).
Vote for #8 . A Colorful Christmas!
A panel of judges will award prizes in a number of categories, and you can vote for your favorite in the People's Choice competition through Saturday, December 14. The People's Choice award comes with a $500 prize. The Aquin Art Department would use that money to purchase items not covered by the budget. The Aquin Art tree is #8 on the ballot and is called 'A Colorful Christmas'. All ornaments on the tree were made by our Senior High Art students.
Aquin Interact students set up all of the trees for this event and then go back when the event is over and pack up all of the trees for next year. Interact receives a donation for their services in this event. They also decorate a tree for the event. It is listed on the "People's Choice" ballot, but they would like to 'spread the wealth' and encourage you to vote for the Aquin Art tree.
And a reminder from M45, coordinator of this event . . .
" . . . there is one vote, per person, per day for the trees. Ballots are not to be taken home and completed outside of the library. Your tree will be disqualified from prizes if we note that attendees have completed more than one ballot per visit. Please be sure your families are aware of this. We want it to be competitive for all."
Head Start 'Giving Tree'
The gifts will be picked up on this Friday, December 13. To be sure your gift makes it to Santa's bag, please have it at either campus by this Thursday, December 12.
