Tons of great information for Broken Arrow families.
Principal's Message (Ryan Horne, Principal)
I would like to recognize our Broken Arrow community partners who serve as a part of our Broken Arrow Caring for Kids Team. The following community partners have supported BA in many ways throughout the 2019-2020 school year and we thank them for their continued support of our initiatives:
- Community Life Church (Shawnee): Provided holiday gift baskets to families, donated crackers, granola bars, and fruit snacks for students, teacher treats as part of “The Kindness Cart”, and teacher snacks as part of “You Can Make It Week!”
- Shiloh Community Church (Shawnee): Donated teacher snacks as part of “You Can Make It Week!”
- Community America Bank (Shawnee): Donated snacks for our students participating in our after school tutoring program
- City of Shawnee: Donated snacks for our students participating in our after school tutoring program
- Country Financial: Provided entertainment at our Winter Fest (The Polar Express) and Dr. Seuss Night (Dr. Seuss)
Thank you so much for all you do for Broken Arrow!

Attendance Matters!
If your child is not going to be attending school for the day, please call the attendance line or the Office to let us know. The Attendance Line is available 24/7.
Our Attendance Clerk spends upwards of 1.5 hours each morning attempting to verify our students’ absences. Your student may be ill, at a doctor’s appointment, running very late, or you may think they are at school and we have them marked as absent. This would be a very scary situation.
Please keep these phone numbers handy and/or place them in your phone under Broken Arrow so you can easily call and let us know if your student is not going to be in school.
If you have not done so already, please read the District’s Attendance Policy. Below is a brief summary:
· If the student is not in their seat by 8:10 a.m., they are tardy
· If the student arrives to school after 8:45 a.m., they are marked as one-half day absent
· If the parent does not provide a doctor’s note or valid reason, as stated in the Attendance Policy, the absence will be marked unexcused
· If a student is signed out of school before 3:10 p.m., they are marked as tardy
· If the student leaves before 2:15 p.m., they are marked as one-half day absent
· If the parent does not provide a doctor’s note or valid reason, as stated in the Attendance Policy, the absence will be marked unexcused
· 10 tardies = 1 day unexcused absence
· Please read the Attendance Policy for truancy laws regarding unexcused absences.
