Principal's Message
From the SWAMP - We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend! On Thursday, our first parent council was held virtually. We are very pleased to introduce our 2021/22 council - Chair Kari DeChamplain-Pipella, Vice-chair Angie Pacholik, Secretary Marian Johnson and Community Representative Dan Wiles. On behalf of the Lorne Akins family we would also like to extend a huge thank you to Past Chair Susan Komlenic for her ongoing support. If you’re interested in attending our next parent council meeting then mark your calendar on November 18th at 7:00pm. The link will be made available on our website.
It’s going to be another fantastic council!
COVID - We want to thank you for helping to keep our school community safe and watching your children for COVID symptoms. As a reminder, please keep your child home if they are presenting with symptoms related to COVID. Click here for the checklist.
Parent Teacher Interviews - We have CHANGED our interviews dates to the following:
Tues. Nov. 9th 5-8pm,
Wed. Nov. 10th 5-8 pm.
All interviews will be done virtually. Please keep your eyes peeled for sign up information in the coming weeks!!!
Interim Reports - An interim report (meaning all marks in PowerSchool will be updated) will be available on November 8th, 2021.
Bus Lane “Drop and Go” - IF you are dropping your children off in the AM, please pull all the way to the end of the bus lane. That will leave enough room for busses to pull in to drop students off. Also, please note that there is no parking for two bus lengths on the north end of the bus lane (before the actual bus lane).
Gator Gear - IF you would like to order, please do! Please visit our website and follow the link. Orders will be processed here in the school and the turnaround time is really quick!
Pizza Friday - Every Friday we will be selling Nitza’s Pizza 8” pizzas for $6.00. They will arrive individually packaged and handed in a COVID safe fashion. Students can choose between cheese, pepperoni or ham and pineapple. If you are interested please have your child bring cash to their homeroom teacher on Wednesday of that week. There will be limited walk up sales on that day.

ATTENDANCE & SIGN IN/ SIGN OUT
If a student needs to leave early, the office MUST hear from a parent. Please email or call the office and we will allow the student to sign out & meet you outside (or walk home).
If a student will arrive late, they are to sign in at the office, and will be given a late slip. If we have been informed the student will be late, that will be an excused late. Without hearing from a parent, the student would be marked as unexcused.
If you have any questions, please ask the office.
