Buddhism is the main religion in China. Confucius and Taoism are philosophies and not religion. The government is a big part of China's history. Emperor Qin and China were at war and Qin wanted to build something to stop the Mongolians from invading China, so Qin built a wall . It was called the Great Wall of China. Qin also built a terra cotta army to take with him to the after life to protect him. Chinese people also built the Forbidden city. It was a large city in width and it is where the Emperor stayed. Only certain people were allowed to enter the city before it closed. The city was closed for 600 years. The city eventually opened and became a tourist attraction and a place people could learn about history.
Today, China is a communist country and the government controls almost all aspects of Chinese culture. The government has strict rules on how many children each family can have due to overcrowding. The government has had a limit of one child per family but has recently allowed families to start having two children.
