Texas oil project

Spindle top is what started the oil industry. Before spindle top Pennsylvania had the largest oil production but that all changes on January 10th, 1901. An enormous geyser of oil had exploded from a drilling site at spindle top hill, a mound created by an underground salt dome located near Beaumont TX in Jefferson count. The oil reached a high of 150 feet and producing 100,00 barrels per day.
Effects of oil on Texas
Social- Since oil was something that everyone wanted, the population of Texas increased a lot. More people came to Texas because they heard of all the oil production.
Economic- The production of oil also helped increase the number of job opportunities that there were in Texas.
