Lopat's Lowdown
Office of the Principal - Faculty Newsletter November 8th
We definitely earned our upcoming three day weekend. I had to check the lunar calendar a few times this week.
Our Holiday party is scheduled for December 7th and I hope to see you there.
The Cougar of the Month nomination form will be sent to teachers 10 days prior to the due date. From now on the form needs to be completed by the due date or your student will not be recognized. The Cougar Culture Committee meetings are going to be based on this so that the committee can put together the Cougar of the Month posters each month. If you are not able to do it your scheduled month, then have a team member nominate a student so that your grade level can be recognized. This is such an exceptional way to recognize students and I appreciate your efforts.
- New phones will be here over Spring Break. There was an issue where the phone drops are located in classrooms. The location of the phone in your classroom will be exactly where it is currently
- We are working on subs for next semester's ReadyGen training. I will share the dates out soon when they are finalized. See Monica if you would like to see your grade level's unofficial date
- Please bring radios out to recess
Have a great 3 day weekend!
-Joe

November's Instructional Strategy- Student Self-Assessment
Mix and Mingle to Music Peer Reflection
The teacher plays some music and students walk around the classroom. When the
music stops, students quickly find a partner. The teacher poses a question for reflection
and partners take turns answering. After a few minutes, the teacher signals for quiet attention and begins to play music again. Students walk about the classroom until the music stops and then find new partners. The process repeats several times.
It's a work in progress...
