Morning Drop Off Update

We appreciate everyone's help with signing their child in when they arrive at school late. This not only assures a safe arrival but eliminates the need to put a student on the spot to ask them why they are late. A reminder that an adult MUST come into the school to sign their child in after the 7:55 bell rings.

Dismissal Changes

Any changes to a child's dismissal procedures need to be communicated to the office by noon. Once we receive this communication, our office staff will contact the teacher to inform them of the change. We have encountered parents emailing teachers during the day about changes, but emails may not be checked until the end of the day after students have left. Contacting the office assures that the change can and will be done.

Please direct any changes to Mrs. Hayes:

If you are changing any of your plans with MBAC, you best contact Mr. Slaby directly, in addition, to contacting the main office.

Lost and Found

We have collected many items over the last few months. These items include, hats, gloves, coats, shoes, boots, and sweatshirts. We will have items out for display during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Any leftover items will be donated to the Kids Resale in the Spring.

ONEderful Kids

ONEderful kids is a group for families who have a child with type 1 diabetes. The ONEderful kids group will be meeting on Thursday, November 21st from 6:30- 7:30 at Brainstorm in Lindenhurst. This will be the last gathering for 2019. We will start meeting again starting in January 0f 2020! If you have any questions, please contact Meghan Konicki at konimf@gmail.com.

Family Reading Night

Family Reading Night is coming up on Thursday, Nov. 21. You will see a bookmark coming home.

All we are asking is that you encourage your students to read, listen to a book, discuss a book, anything reading related with family members on Thursday, Nov. 21. Please sign the bookmark-anywhere on the bookmark- your child can bring it to the Media Center for a keychain prize. Students can bring their bookmarks anytime in November.

Drop Off/ Pick up Procedures

We are seeing more and more families drop off students in the morning. Please remember to be patient when waiting to drop students off. To avoid students walking between cars, do not double park in the drop off lane. If you do park in one of our parking stalls, use the crosswalk to escort yoru child to the sidewalk safely. When picking up your child, all cars MUST park in our parking lot and walk in to sign their child out. Parking a vehicle along our fire lane is prohibited. Thank you for your cooperation.

Big picture

Kindergarten Lunch Helpers/ Winter Weather

Our Kindergarten students have done a great job with learning the lunchroom procedures. We are seeing students not need as much help, becoming more independent with getting the lunches and opening their cold lunch items. Yet, as we approach winter, our next obstacle is snow gear. When students leave the cafeteria, they proceed to get on their winter coats, gloves, hat, and snow pants on before going out for recess.

We would appreciate any parent helpers to come on cold weather days around 11:15 to help our Kindergarteners get their gear on. It would only be a few moments of your time, but the more hands the better!

Literacy Grades 3rd-5th

Parents of 3rd-5th Grade were sent an email this week on how we will address grading with our new literacy program this year. Attached is a copy of this letter for families to review. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Walshire.

Millburn WebStore

Millburn WebStore/Outstanding Fees

The Millburn Webstore is available! Parents can now pay for activity fees, sports fees, and more! Simply go to store.millburn24.net to access the Millburn WebStore. In the Millburn Webstore, you will have the option to make payments with a credit card, bank account, or for some items, your child’s PushCoin Wallet. To add funds to your child’s PushCoin Wallet, go to www.pushcoin.com.

Please check your child’s PushCoin account weekly to view any fees your child may have incurred (e.g., lost library book, MBAC fees, lunch overages). If you have not created a PushCoin account for your child, please visit www.pushcoin.com, click "I don't have an account," and follow the prompts to set up your child's account. Once you’ve created a PushCoin account for your child(ren), you will receive monthly emails from PushCoin if your child has an outstanding fee balance. Note that low balance lunch reminders are no longer sent home with your child. However, you can set a low balance or negative balance notification through PushCoin. This will be sent to the email address you provide.
