Teacher Climate Survey Opens

The RISD Beginning-of-Year Teacher Climate Survey will launch on Monday, September 17 and close on Friday, September 28. This year, the Climate Survey will continue to be administered twice: one at the beginning of the year for teachers only and the other at the end of the year including all RISD employees, except campus classified staff. The surveys will focus on the cultivation of a positive culture across the district and on campus. The results of both teacher surveys will be compared to evaluate the impact of district and campus efforts throughout the school year.

Notification of the survey launch will be sent to teachers from Dr. Stone Monday morning. This notification is not necessary to access the survey. Teachers will access the survey in RISD Light through Class Link through “Surveys” under the “Climate” tab. The following link will lead to the survey access point. It will reflect 2018-19 with the launch on Monday, September 17:

Light: Climate Survey Access

Teachers will be able to access and complete the survey in Light Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 28.

RISD Spirit Run 5k and Fun Run

Every year, RISD and the Excellence in Education foundation hosts a 5K and Fun Run (1K) and Walk event. This year the Spirit Run is held on Saturday, November 3rd. MST always loves to have a group to run or walk the 5K together! Then, we usually go enjoy a yummy brunch together afterwards! This run is open to all our White Tiger families as well.

The website to register is below. Registration right now is $20, so you may want to take advantage of the early registration rate. It will go up on October 7th.

Grades in FOCUS

Big picture
Remember that you must enter grades each week in FOCUS so that parents have an accurate reflection of where their student is performing. Please do not wait until right before progress reports or report cards are due to enter grades. This is part of maintaining effective parent communication! :)

TTESS Tidbit

GSPD - Student and Professional Growth Goals Due Friday, September 21st

For all those who are evaluated under TTESS, the student and professional growth goals are due in True North Logic by this Friday at 6:00 pm. Remember, that this year your professional growth goal and your student growth goal must be directly related to one another. You will also need to complete the Self-Assessment in TNL as well. Please refer to MST 18-19 folder in Drive and then look in the TTESS folder for all presentations, videos, and examples of both professional and student growth goals. If you have any questions or would like some help working on your goal, please let your appraiser know! Jill and I would be happy to support you with this!

Tweet Tweet!

Twitter really is an awesome thing! It's an incredible way to not only learn new, cool ideas from fellow educators, but it is an AMAZING and easy way to tell our story about what incredible things that are taking place at our school each day! If you don't have a Twitter account, you are missing out! Open an account and follow our school at @MSTMAGNET and me at @Hlopez1022!

Next week, I will be featuring Tweets of the Week! I'll be on the lookout for some awesome tweets to highlight!
