A Message from Pastor Sander
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, o creatures here below.
Praise him above you heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! Amen
My Dear friend:
The Lord showered us with his gifts in the last 16 months. Not only did He bestow on us spiritual blessing like inward peace, through the forgiveness of sins, and hope of eternal life; He also blessed us with an effective vaccine against the virus that caused this pandemic, and brought pain, loss, and suffering to countless families throughout the land.
Considering these gifts, we have nothing but praise for Him from Whom all blessings flow! He showed us what is possible in a land when people accept scientific facts over political rhetoric. The corona virus could be defeated. Unfortunately, there still is a percentage of people that rather live in delusion. For these we need to pray that the Holy Spirit would turn their hearts. By adhering to lies and misconceptions, they are keeping the virus well fed and alive with their unprotected bodies.
Blessed Savior has taken every precaution prescribed by the Center for Disease Control – CDC. These measures assured us that we did our part. We see this Federal Agency, the CDC, as a gift of God through Caesar, that is, “the State.” The State is God’s left hand through which he keeps order, peace, justice, safety, etc., in the world. The church is God’s right hand, through which God blesses the world through the proclamation of the Gospel to all.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide both Church and State to the glory of God and to the benefit of His people. On the Fourth of July, bless America with your prayers for our homeland!
Your servant, in the Lord Jesus,
Pastor Martinho Q. Sander

Passing the Test
We find in the Bible that even Jesus was tested. Jesus had just returned from the Jordan River and was about to begin His ministry. Luke tells us, “He (Jesus) was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days”. Jesus had just been baptized by John and then a dove descended upon him, and a voice said, “This is My beloved Son; in Him I am well pleased.” No sooner did Jesus get this confirmation from on than He was sent into the wilderness and put to the test.
In the wilderness, Satan quoted scripture out of context to try and get Jesus to go against God. He came at Jesus when His spirit was strong, but His body was weak. Jesus was hungry and Satan tried to get Him to eat something. Satan tried to appeal to His flesh, and he does the same thing to us. Satan comes at us in both times of blessing and times of drought. He comes at us when we are strong and when we are weak. Satan really does not care if you are tired, sick, overworked, or dealing with the pressure of life. Satan uses everything to work his plan.
The good thing about these attacks is that we are not alone in them. We have a God that defends us, protects us, loves us, and will fight for us. Just as Jesus went to the Father when He was being tested, we too must go to the Father when we feel the pressure and attacks of Satan. Each time Satan came at Jesus, Jesus responded with the Word of God. The Word is our armor and weapon, and it is powerful. Jesus used the Word to defeat Satan and we too can do the same thing. The Word of God is the greatest tool needed to pass the tests of life. It worked for Jesus, and it works for us!
