Cape Elementary: Seahawk Sentinel

Cape's Mission & Vision
Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.
Dear Cape Families,
We wish all our Cape families a happy new year filled with hope and promise. We trust everyone took time to relax and enjoy each other over winter break.
Exciting times are ahead for our Cape students in 2020! We will be ready to make 2020 a year filled with success through hard work and dedication by providing students with daily opportunities to learn and grow. We shoulder the work together – administrators, teachers, staff, students and families. Thanks for partnering with us in this venture!
January is a busy month for our school. Please take a look at the school calendar in this newsletter, in the back of your child’s planner, or on our website. We especially look forward to seeing you at our Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, January 23. We also have our second annual Fun Run!
We are already planning for the 2020-2021 school year. We will have a Kindergarten Open House on Wednesday, January 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in our library. We will also have school tours in January and February. Please invite your neighbors and friends with elementary school–age children to participate in these activities. We want to share with our community all the great things we do at Cape each day.
Our intensive and co-teach classes are always in need of snacks, books and school supplies for their students. We appreciate any donation for these students. Please drop off at the office anytime.
Cape uses School Messenger, a communication system for parents, for events and emergencies. If you are receiving phone messages, texts or emails about school events then you are all set in School Messenger. If you are not, please make sure we have your correct phone number and email address.
Cape is a special place. Our world is a better place because of the passion and dedication of our Cape staff. We are thankful for our students, staff and parents. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns. We are happy to assist in any way we can.
Sincerely,
Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
PTO News
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your families and friends.
We want to thank everyone who was able to come set up, work and volunteer for the Holiday Shoppe. The kids had a great time shopping for their families and friends and we couldn't have done it without you!
We are right back to work having fun at Cape in 2020. January 15th is when our Fun Run Fundraiser begins. The Fun Run will be held on Friday, January 24th during Specials time. Be on the lookout for more information about donations, pledging money for your student when they run, and volunteering for the event. This is a great way to get outside and be active while raising money for more great things to come this year at Cape.
Our next PTO/SAC meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 6 pm in the library. We hope to see you there!
Thank you for all you do to support Cape Elementary PTO and if you haven't yet, please follow us on Facebook at CapeElementary PTO! You can always email any questions to capeelementarypto@gmail.com
