We will be having our Fall STEAM Day this Friday, December 9. We will follow our two hour delay schedule and do the STEAM activities from 9:00-11:00 AM. This will be a full school day for students. STEAM Day is not open to visitors, thank you for understanding.
Our Holiday Music Concert will be a combined Band, Orchestra and Chorus Concert and will be held on Monday, December 12 at 7:00 PM at Pottsgrove Middle School. More information will be coming home from the music department in advance of the event.
The Student Leaders will be running a pajama collection drive the weeks of December 5-16. A flyer was sent home with the students last week. Thank you so much to those of you that have already sent in donations!
Our ever popular Holiday Spirit Days are back at LPES for 2022!
Here are the scheduled spirit days for your reference, a separate flyer will be shared in the near future. Spirit Days are not intended to be stressful, they are voluntary and always just for fun!
Friday, December 9: As the building wide celebration for exceeding our goal for the food drive, the Student Leaders have designated this spirit day as Hat Day or Crazy Hair Day- this allows students the opportunity to choose whether they would like to wear a hat or engage in crazy hair day.

Sing Along: We will be making some changes to the format of our Sing Along at LPES. On December 23, we will be running two assemblies for our students. The assemblies will feature our advanced band, advanced orchestra and 4/5 grade chorus. The groups will perform their concert pieces for the student body. The assemblies will take place as follows:
9:30-10:00
Confidence- grade 3 (Armstrong, A. Yergey, Costanzo, Strohecker, Marcus)
Courage - grade 3 (Lightcap, Nice, Madara, Cullin, Andrews)
Responsibility- grade 4 ( Violi, Schwartz, Young, Harrar, McLeod)
11:45-12:15
Honesty- grade 5 (Miller, Novak, Lawless, Leinhauser, McGeehan)
Integrity - grade 5 (Noel, Kenia, S. Yergey, Mitchell, Grindle)
Respect - grade 4 (Bussenger, Rhoadarmer, Fulmer, Daltry, Butler)
Parents are invited to attend the assemblies. It is important to note that the program will be the same one that the children are performing at their concert on December 12. Parents will have a designated section on the bleachers and will not be permitted to sit with their child's class. Parents will be permitted to sign their children out after the assembly if they choose. We do ask that the children in the performance groups listed above be available for both assemblies. We will be sending out additional communications with more information regarding the Sing Along for parents prior to December 23. We look forward to celebrating the hard work of our student musicians with you!
Please complete the First Day Packet in the Parent Portal as soon as possible. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter and thank you to those that have already updated your information for 2022-2023. Students with outdated information will not be able to participate in and field trips in the spring.
As we head into the colder weather, this is a reminder that the children go outside for recess unless weather conditions or playground conditions pose a safety concern (snow, ice, rain, etc.) If the actual temperature or with the wind chill the temperature feels like it is less than 20 degrees, we also keep the children inside. If your son or daughter is in need of a winter coat, please reach out to Mrs. Koehler or Mrs. Flanagan and we can support your child's needs.
