Quartz Hill High School Senior Starts Food Pantry
The Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce held a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new food pantry started by Quartz Hill High School senior Asiah Giuntoni. Asiah noticed a need amongst her peers when it came to reliable food sources, particularly during the COVID19 pandemic with so many people out of work. Seeing local food distribution taking place in Lancaster and Palmdale, Asiah wanted to make sure those in Quartz Hill were able to receive support as well.
Donations can be made directly to the QH Chamber of Commerce at 42043 50th St. West (cross street 50h west and Ave L-14). Donations must be placed in the green donation box located near the food pantry.
Items needed: non-perishable/canned foods, meats, vegetables, easy-to-make pasta or raman package, mac-n-cheese, rice, beans, granola bars, and water. Also, hygienic and medical supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine products, kleenex, hand wipes, soap, shampoos, etc are also appreciated.
Asiah has put into action one of our core values, kindness, and we are proud of Asiah in her efforts to help those in need.
