Don't forget the Dino Eggs & Patties Breakfast this Friday, March 8 from 7:45 - 8:45 am for those families that turned in their RSVP forms. The fair will also be open to everyone during this time. Look out for our guest dinosaur and have your photo taken!
We need volunteers to help with the Book Fair. Please consider signing up for an hour or more to help the students fill out their wish lists (for grades K-2) and locate books that interest them. Click on the following link to sign up: www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4daaaa29a75-book2
There are four ways to purchase items at the fair: cash, check payable to PUE PTA, credit card, and eWallet. Parents are able to set up a fund for their child/children to shop using eWallet. Any unused money is returned to the parent/not charged to their card. To learn more, go to www.scholastic.com/bf/pleasantunionelemschool.

Announcements for the Week of March 4, 2019
EMERGENCY WEATHER DRILL: There will an Emergency Weather Drill on Wednesday, March 6th at 9:30 AM. Please discuss with your students how to kneel and cover his/her head and why we observe this drill in March. If you do not have a map posted beside your classroom door, please let us know ASAP.
MOMO- If you have not read the email sent out on 2/28 regarding the Momo Hoax, please do so. We are addressing any issues with students on a case by case basis, and we thank those teachers that have referred students to us. All known incidents have been addressed. It is critical that you monitor internet access in your classrooms. No incidents have occurred other than students going to unauthorized sites to see the Momo picture. That is why it is important for you to know what your students are doing at all times while on devices.
BYOD and DEVICES- Please remember the following about BYOD and devices: Students are NOT allowed to use BYOD devices when there is a substitute. Teachers should LOCK doors when leaving the classroom. ALL DEVICES should be stored and put away at teacher direction. Students that go to sites that are not to be used lose internet privileges according to his or her grade level. Please reference the chart in the PUE Master Folder and found HERE for what to do about violations.
The Pleasant Union Pieces of Gold Chorus will showcase its talent this Wednesday night at the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center. Thank you to the students under the direction of music teacher, Peggy Freer for their hard work at the many early morning practices to prepare for this prestigious event.

Spring Fling Getting Closer
The 2nd Annual PUE Spring Fling will be held on Sunday, March 31st, from 2pm-5pm. Thank you to all parents that that have already volunteered to help with making this a successful event. Go to Spring Fling to get the details how your child's class can help.
Staff will need to coordinate collection efforts with room parents. This year classrooms will receive 100% of the proceeds minus transaction fee. Last year classrooms received 50%. PTA will create displays on the lobby bulletin boards for all to see some of the auction items. Once items to be auctioned are determined a detailed list of what’s included and the value. Work with room parents to include at least 1 picture for the auction site. Need donations for tracks 1, 3, 4 by March 15 and Track 2 by March 22. Winners will be notified of specific times to pick time on the auction site as well as in each listing. There is a good possibility that there will be Disney rewards drawing this year that include 1 day park passes for volunteers who win.
Please note that the auction will go live 1 week before the Spring Fling and run 1 week after the event until Sunday, April 7. This will push all the deadlines back by one week which will give Track 2 some more time. Below are the changes/updates:
- The Auction will go live Monday, March 25th (instead of March 18)
- Information needs to be submitted via the Google Doc by: March 15 (Tracks 1, 3 and 4) and March 22 (Track 2). It was previously communicated March 8 and March 15th, respectively.
- Items will still only be accepted on Friday, March 29.
