FHHS Artist Spotlight - Mikala Cessac

As the Viking Insider continues to recognize students across all activities at FHHS we unveiled a new feature recently, the "FHHS Artist Spotlight." Howell is full of many talented young students and we have several very gifted artists that we will highlight over the course of the next several weeks. This week we take a look at the work of Mikala Cessac and learn more about her theme for her work.

Artist: Mikala Cessac

Grade: Senior

Favorite Medium: "I initially started using acrylic paint for my projects but I branched out into using charcoal, pen, and watercolor as well."

Sustained Theme: "My theme this year is named 'The Human Experience.' I am trying to convey the complexities of human life and how it is deeper than what is on the surface. I love painting people and their various emotions, so this theme was perfect for me. I also enjoy creating pieces, such as the St. Louis skyline, that are fun and relevant to me. AP Studio art is an awesome class that allows me to learn new techniques and grow in my artistic expression."

Works: You can view more works by Mikala below.
