Dear St. Jerome Families,

I hope that you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving break. In the Wednesday folder this week is information about our Home and School Association's Santa Shop for next week.

Last year, we started having evening shopping hours Thursday. This year, we are going to have a "Merry and Bright Family Night" to celebrate the Feast of St. Lucy on Thursday, December 8th from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Please see the graphic below for more information. This will include time to visit the Santa Shop.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is a St. Jerome Spirit Day; donations that day will be used to help each class purchase a gift from our parish's giving tree to benefit the residents of Spin, who help adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Donations may be made by cash, check, or Venmo (@sjsphila).

Also, tomorrow we will have an Advent Prayer Service at 10:15 AM. In addition, Fr. Reilly will bless our two school Christmas tress that will be decorated with ornaments that each of our students made with their homeroom teachers. We will also be singing Christmas Carols.

St. Lucy School is selling spirit wear; the order form is in the Wednesday Folder and also below for any St. Jerome Family who would like to order SLS gear. St. Lucy t-shirts and hoodies may be worn on Spirit Days. If you are ordering, please make payment by cash or checks made out to St. Lucy School. At this time, St. Lucy School does not take Venmo. All proceeds support St. Lucy School.

As we journey through the season of Advent, in anticipation of Christmas, each class (K-8th) will be attending the 8:00 AM Mass once a week for Advent:

• Monday: 1st & 2nd
• Tuesday: 3rd
• Wednesday: KA & KB
• Thursday: 4th & 5th
• Friday: 6th, 7th, & 8th

In addition, we will be attending Mass at 10:00 AM on December 8th (Feast of the Immaculate Conception) and December 13th (Feast of St. Lucy). Pre-K4 will join us for Mass on December 8th. Pre-K3 will also attend virtually on December 8th (Feast of the Immaculate Conception). The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation will be offered to our 3rd-8th grade classes the week of December 12th.

We are pleased to announce that Miss Natalie and Miss Linda will once again return to coordinate our spring musical, Newsies Jr. More information is below; we will also send a flyer to 3rd-8th graders in next week's Wednesday Folder to remind them about auditions. This is a fun and cherished St. Jerome School tradition.

Report cards for the first trimester will be posted to OptionC next Wednesday. Teachers are working on administering any make up assignments and finalizing their grades this week and the beginning of next week. Please contact the main office if you need your OptionC login. If you have any questions about your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher for that particular subject. Report cards are a good time for the students to reflect on their progress, celebrate successes, and set goals for improvement in the second trimester. We look forward to continuing to work together with you to provide the best for each one of our students.

St. Jerome and St. Lucy, pray for us!

Pre-K3 through 8th grade St. Jerome and St. Lucy students will be allowed to shop with their class during the designated time listed on the flyer. This event is a way for students to shop (in secret!) for the perfect gift for Mom, Dad, grandparents, siblings and other important people and pets in their lives.

Please use the budget envelope that was sent home with your child. This will allow you and your child to work together to decide how much can be spent on each person on their list. Gift items ranges from $1.00 to $10.00. Cash only no checks.

We invite the SJS community to shop at our community night on Thursday December 8th from 5-7 p.m. as a part of our Merry and Bright Family Night.

Calling ALL elves to help volunteer. We will need volunteers for set-up, day of the events (clearances needed) and clean up. If you are able to volunteer, please email saintjeromeshomeandschool@gmail.com by noon on Friday, December 2nd.

Hello! My name is Natalie Graveley and I am the director of the school musical. We are holding auditions for SJS spring musical- Newsies Jr.! Please see the information below. All 3rd-8th graders are invited to audition on Friday, December 16th after school. Kindergarten-2nd "Show Stoppers" will receive more information at a later date.
