CAASPP
We've been running into some problems with updating CAASPP logins. The process is a little different this year, with passwords expiring within 15 minutes of the state's email confirmation. This has led to some challenges between when teachers receive the email and when they're able to confirm it. Please be on the lookout for an email from:
CA-assessments- Do not reply
Subject:
Your California assessment account has been created or reset
The secure verification link is in the text. It will say it expires in 15 minutes. If you miss the window and it’s expired. IT will tell you it’s expired and prompt you to get a more current link. If you click it will generate a new email. The next email should come really quick. Once you get it, the system will take you to a screen to create and confirm your password. Then you’ll get security question, answer it, and you’ll be in to TOMS. After that, you're all set up.
I was able to get one confirmed teacher be able to complete this process on Friday. So, please look through your emails on Monday for this email from CA-assessments-Do not reply and see if you can get in. Please email me on Monday to confirm if you've been able to complete the process
Wilson Fall Carnival
Next month on Friday, October 27th, WMS will be hosting their annual Fall Carnival. This is a fun event where teachers and clubs host booths where students can play games and earn candy or prizes. Our Carnival will be from 4:30-6:30. Rocky Hill will also be hosting their Carnival, it will be from 5:30-7:30.
PTO helps oversee the event in terms of assisting with prizes or booth ideas or resources. They also collect and hold the funds that you earn and provide you easier access to the funds through reimbursement. I’ve sent out the Carnival SOP that outlines more of the specifics for how the booths and funds work. Lupe will be overseeing the sign-ups for booths. If you would like PTO to pre-buy candy or prizes for your booth, you’ll need to let Lupe know this by Friday, October 13thbefore we go on Fall Break. Teachers will share more about the Carnival during Circle of Support, but I wanted to frontload some information to get us ready.
EUSD INTENSIVE INTERVENTION 2017-2018
We are looking for Teachers who would like to teach Intensive Intervention Classes after school. The hourly rate is $34.00 per hour and teacher’s can design their own schedules and hours! Some staff have chosen to teach Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15 while others have arranged their schedule to be M, T, & Thursday for one hour or two. The schedule and time are adjustable; they just need to be approved by me before you begin!
The focus students will be our Long Term English Learners and we would like to begin classes after the October break. Teachers may use their own materials or we have curriculum in the district that was used during Summer School. Our goal is to help students become fluent and build their mastery of the English Language and to assist students with academic struggles in all content areas.
If you are interested in teaching after school in the Intensive Intervention program, please email Dr. Pengilly.
