The Honor
Kappa Delta Pi | Seton Hall University | October Vol. 4.2
Welcome Fall!
Collecting fun kid jokes becomes a pastime when you have young ones in your life. Have you heard this one? “I’ve been trying to memorize the alphabet, but I only know 25 letters... I don’t know why.” Hah-hah-hah!
In all seriousness, in thinking about your school work, your "work" work, and your daily life - do you really know "y"?
Remember to invest in your own self-development now and in the future! Try to make time this fall to know why you do what you do each day. Whether your goals or objectives and key results are cascaded down or set by you, take the time to clarify, negotiate or re-frame them so you can fully engage. We hope the resources in this newsletter provide ample opportunity to get involved and support yourself and your fellow KDP family!
This month's newsletter features...
- Praxis Prep: 10/16 at 6pm
- Mary Jennings Memorial Game Recap in Pictures
- Books for Nigeria
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Workshop: 11/13 at 7pm - SAVE THE DATE!
- HigherEd Career Development Seminar: 10/27 from 9am-12pm

How Often Do You Read?
Take this newsletter, for example, or reading one of many of your phone's notifications, construction signs, job applications, or directions on medicine bottles. While we sometimes take it for granted, we know how crucial reading is.
Seeing an opportunity to support literacy, Kappa Delta Pi has partnered with its Nigerian chapter in a special initiative.
KDP is raising funds to purchase storybooks that will support literacy in Nigerian classrooms. We have created the Books for Nigeria campaign at https://give.kdp.org/books.
With your help, we are bringing storybooks to schools in Nigeria that desperately need them.
These books will nurture the reading skills of children currently in the classroom, and continue to help future generations of students.
From now until October 31, we are working toward our goal of raising $10,000 for books for Nigeria. Will you help us reach it?
Donate now because learning to read can't wait.
Check out our Books for Nigeria video at https://give.kdp.org/books.

Seton Hall has partnered with Jersey Cares to collect new/gently used costumes to provide children of under-served communities across New Jersey with the opportunity to participate in Halloween activities this year. For these children, Halloween costumes often don’t make the list of essentials in the family budget. Halloween carnivals, trick-or-treating and the possibility of being your favorite superhero – even for a night – all disappear when you don’t have a costume.
Help us bring imaginations and magic to life by donating new and gently used Halloween costumes at Fall Fest. Items accepted for the Halloween costume drive include:
- New or gently used costumes (ages 0-14)
- Halloween masks
- Costume accessories
- Unused Halloween face make-up
- Candy pails or treat bags
Donations may also be mailed or dropped off at the following address:
