The Weeks in Review
We had a great four day week this week after the holiday on Monday!
In Science, we have learned a lot of new vocabulary with the features that cover the planet. As we learned about landforms we have also started work on a model project which the students had to map out their own continent and place landforms in locations that made sense. They have completed their maps this week and will begin their clay sculpting work on Monday. Be on the lookout for these coming home next week and the next edition of the Scouting Report will have pictures of their creations!
In Social Studies, we split our classes into colonies and we did some selling! It was a sight to see on Friday as we had our very own "spin room" (or mall), where each colony team spent time selling to their classmates as they walked by. They had to use attention grabbing slogans and catchy phrases, incentives were offered, and ultimately each class chose where they wanted to live:
5B
52.6% of the class chose to move to Massachusetts Bay! Congratulations to all on their hard work!
5A
42.1% of the class chose to move to Massachusetts Bay! Congratulations to every group on their hard work! The vote was very close!
5E
33.5% of the class chose to move to Rhode Island! 2nd place was Georgia at 23%. Congratulations to every group on their hard work!
Check out some of their amazing work below!
