Gear UP Visits
I have more college and career field trips coming up in April and May! Permission forms for OSU, Construction Career Day, and Tillamook PUD Career Day are on the table outside the library. Permission forms for the Tradeswomen's Career Fair and Western Oregon will be out in two weeks. Get signed up!
Tillamook PUD Career Day - Another great event! We'll travel to TPUD's facility in Tillamook and meet with employees who work in various areas of the company that keeps the power on for our county: lineworkers (including tree crews), mechanics, energy efficiency specialist, power system control room operators, and more. Last year's event was very interesting so don't miss out on this one. Plus, TPUD has a high school work program, which could lead to employment while you're still at NKN! They also offer two $10,000 scholarships to the VOLTA Lineworkers school in Warrenton!
Oregon Tradeswomen's Career Fair - We'll travel to the IBEW Electrical Training Center in Portland and meet dozens of companies and schools who will introduce you to a variety of skilled trades careers where you can earn while you learn and access debt-free career training. All high-schoolers can sign up for this event!
Western Oregon - this is a reschedule from our trip in March! You will need to get a new permission form to attend and those will be out soon.
Lots of great options here so don't wait to sign up!
