Update!
Coming up at the end of the month is the PTL Fall Festival on Friday, October 25th. This year the theme is AROUND THE WORLD Fall Festival. Each class is responsible for a class booth that is themed to a particular country or region. Each class is responsible for providing individually wrapped candies or small treats for TRICK OR TREATING AROUND THE WORLD. Your teacher will be asking you for donations. Donations count towards your service hours. They need to come to school in a bag with your child's name and the receipt and the PTL will take care of your pink slips. In addition to visiting the booths and getting treats, there will be a costume contest (NOTHING SCARY OR NEGATIVE), a dance contest, a dunk tank and and food will be sold.
Admission is one canned good per person for our food pantry or $1 per person. We will provide you with a list of items we need for the pantry. Tickets will be sold for the dunk tank and climbing wall and simple food will be sold.
The festival will be from 6PM to 8PM.
We need for parents to sign up and help with various activities. Without enough parent support, we cannot host this event. Please click on the link for the sign-up genius below and find a category that you can volunteer for. We still need additional volunteers in some areas.

The end of the 1st quarter is coming up quickly. The 1st quarter will end on Thursday, October 24th. On Friday, October 25th, there is a teacher's work day. OOS will also be provided on this day but ONLY UNTIL 4PM due to the Fall Festival.
We will be scheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5th and 6th. Your student's homeroom teacher will send you a link to sign up for a conference time on Sign Up Genius. Each teacher will send their own link and I will provide them as well.
Please join us in wishing our girl's VARSITY Volleyball team the best of luck as they compete in the State Basketball Tournament at St. Luke's Lutheran School in Oviedo Florida.

Parking Lot, Seatbelts, Cell phones, Car seats
First, please stay off of your cell phone. There are children everywhere. No phone conversation or text message is as important as the safety of our children. Please do not be on your phone in our parking lot. Be alert and look out for children.
I see lots of young children sitting in the front seat and lots of kids in cars without seatbelt or not in an age appropriate child safety seat. Per Florida statutes, children should be in the back seat until they are 13 years old and every child under the age of 18 must wear a seatbelt. All children 5 and under must be in a federally approved child restraint seat appropriate for their age.
Please be aware that stronger seat belt and child restraint laws will be into effect in January, 2020. The new law will require booster seats for students who are much older. Many students who currently are not using a booster seat will need one so please be aware.
Here is a link to the CURRENT seat belt and child restraint regulations

Finally, all cars should be inching along very slowly in and around the parking lot PLEASE! A child could dart out in front of a vehicle at any time. DON'T BE IN A RUSH. Go SLOWLY until you are OUT OF THE SCHOOL ZONE. Not only are we concerned for our children but also the children from other nearby schools who are walking by.
Thank you Parent, for putting the safety of our children first in and around the school parking lot.
AROUND THE WORLD FALL FESTIVAL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!
This is a cash only event. Food and dunk tank tickets can be purchased with cash only.
In the Dunk Tank we have some of your favorite Holy Cross staff members. Throw a ball and hit the target and watch them plummet into the cold water!
CANDY AND PRIZES NEEDED! Also, donations for the CAKE WALK
Please do not send any candy that contains peanuts.
Turn in with your name and the receipt so that you can get stewardship credit.
We also need ONE DONATION PER CLASS of any item for the cake walk. This can be any store bought bakery item i.e cupcakes, cake, cookies, doughnuts, pie, etc.
