Softball News
Our softball program is very competitive, and these kids work very hard both during the season and over the summer and fall to get better. These ladies are responsible, academically oriented, and talented.
WHS is proud of these ladies. This is a good team, WHS just happens to be in one of the most competitive Softball districts in Texas.
We did win the Championship of the Stephenville Tournament March 8-10. Kristen Kamnick was nominated for the athlete of the week after collecting 5 home runs in that tournament.
Keep up the good work, ladies!
News from Homeplate
Then the Roos played again last Friday and got a big win Friday night after scoring 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat Keller Central 5-1. Philip Zamarron drew a walk to lead off the 7th inning. Pierce Morris then got a one out single to move the pinch runner Chris Molina to 3rd base. Molina then scored on a throwing error by the catcher to tie the game. The Kangaroos then loaded the bases with 2 outs when Jake Seglem walked for the game winning RBI scoring Morris. Mason Hilton got the win on the mound striking out 10 and allowing 2 hits and 1 run. Morris came on to pitch the 7th inning striking out one hitter to close it out for the win.
