Elora Greiner has been accepted into this program with a full scholarship and airfare. This award exceeds $6,000! She will also receive college credit. This is for two weeks in July and her scholarship is from QuestBridge. "The Yale Young Global Scholars Program is an intensive educational experience that combines lectures from top Yale faculty, elective seminars, a research project and presentation, and other unique academic and recreational activities to give talented high school leaders from all over the world a chance to challenge themselves, meet other extraordinary students, and get a taste of life at Yale University."
East High School Hosts Region 2AA Art Festival
Congratulations to Lorrie Schroeder, Grant Hanson and all of our talented art students that participated Saturday in the Region 2AA Visual Art Festival. This was a wonderful opportunity for students across our region to showcase their work. Out of 18 pieces of art submitted, 7 were rated superior and 7 were rated excellent!

Cougar Media Communicating What is Going On In Our School!
Cougar Media is a course that focuses on different aspects of mass communications. This course is for students who are interested in a career in media or who are looking for a chance to shine on the screen or web are encouraged to register for the class. These students prepare a show that is shared with our student body on a bi-weekly basis. Please click below to see last weeks show.

Cougar Learning Lab
Please encourage your students to attend Cougar Learning lab for additional help. We are located in the Senior High computer lab on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, before and after school. Students may make up tests or if a student needs more one-on-one help on a specific assignment, please encourage them up to stop in.
Leif Stout places 3rd in the STEMFUSE Challenge!
Big 9 Preview Concert
On April 21st, the Concert Band, Concert Choir, and Orchestra performed a Big 9 concert preview for music fans of Mankato. The Big 9 Music Festival is this Friday, April 29th at Rochester John Marshall High School.
Statewide ACT
On Tuesday, April 19th, East High School participated in the Statewide ACT testing with 265 juniors taking the ACT test free of charge in the East High School gym. This is over 99% of the junior class participating!
Hoffman Road Stage Company Presented "Out of Order" a British Farce
The play brought in great crowds for all four performances with two completely different casts performing!
