My name is Mrs. Natasha Kirby, and I have been a member of this community for over 15 years. I am excited to announce that this year the district was awarded the Preschool Promise Grant! We are building this program right here at Stayton Elementary. We have 18 precious spots and are currently enrolling 4-year-old students to begin preschool as soon as they are approved.

Due to Covid-19 complications and getting the preschool up and running, we are beginning our program with a home-based learning model. This is a very simple model to follow as we are providing all the materials and activities to families to guide their child’s development. This early teacher/family partnership will foster future success as we transition to a hybrid limited in-person model and eventually to a full time in-person model. Despite all the craziness of this year, we are so excited to get started and we are happy that we are able to provide this service to families in our community. Right now we would really like to get the word out to families with children who are starting kindergarten next fall. Please help us spread the word!
