Middle School WL Facilitator
Our Middle School Exploratory program introduces seventh and eighth grade learners to the fascinating world of language study and the German and Spanish languages and cultures.
Open to learners 9-12 who are currently studying or have completed at least two years of Spanish. This is a group for students who love the Hispanic culture and want to learn more about it through engagement in cultural activities. We celebrate holidays, make crafts, watch movies, host community speakers and of course cook food! Spanish Club organizes the International Culture Day that celebrates all of our learners´ backgrounds and diverse heritage.
Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica
Learners who excel in Spanish 1-3 are invited to join the Spanish Honor Society as they prepare to enter the advanced phase or our program. Meetings and activities are conducted in the Spanish language and we focus on service and community. Highlights include dinners at local restaurants, guest speakers, service projects and a trip to New York City.
Open to all German learners, past or present, and heritage speakers, this club offers students an opportunity to deepen their understandings of the German language and appreciation culture. The club typically meets twice a month and activities include music, games, holidays, food, field trips, and International Culture Day.
Delta Phi Alpha
The German Honor Society recognizes learners who are excel in the German language and are planning to continue into German IV. Students are invited to join in German III. The German Society conducts activities in German and also goes to New York City each spring.

German Language Exchange:
This ongoing exchange, started in 2008, offers students the opportunity to spend 4 weeks in Germany. Each fall, participants host a student from a family in Germany who will spend 4 weeks in our school system. Then in the summer, MC students travel to Germany where they will stay with the family of the student whom they hosted the previous fall. It is a great way to forge new relationships and gain a greater understanding of the world.
