Key Event of the Week #1: Homecoming Week
Homecoming Week is finally here! Here are the activities planned this week. The parade time changed to 6:30 pm and I found out there will be a Pep Rally after the parade. Follow the band down to the field to participate! The cheerleaders are selling Chick-Fil-A via pre-order at the Pep Rally. See flyer below if you want to support them.
Mr. Pearce expects that students can be picked up around 7:45 pm after the pep rally. Parents may want to park in the front of the school or another location, since the traffic will be bad at the rear of the school. Kids can bring an extra snack to eat in between 5:30 and 6:30 pm OR order Chick-Fil-A from the cheerleaders

Wednesday, October 20th: Homecoming Parade at 6:30 pm followed by a Pep Rally
Friday, October 22nd: Homecoming Game at 7 pm (Challenger Columbia Stadium)
Saturday, October 23rd: Homecoming Dance at 7 pm (same day as the Gulf Coast Contest) *
* Our prelim performance is at 3 pm and the schedule after that is uncertain. The current schedule shows the buses returning at 10:45 pm, but the dance ends at 10:00 pm! If for some reason, the schedule changes and students return earlier, tickets can be purchased at the door for $15.
Key Event of the Week #2: Gulf Coast Classic Marching Contest
Our district is the HOST for the Gulf Coast Classic Marching Contest on Saturday, October 23rd.
Here is the schedule:

We will need all of the “normal” volunteers to support the Clear Lake Falcon Band and since we are the host district, each of the CCISD high schools are required to provide volunteers to cover all the duties needed to host an event of this magnitude. This year, our volunteer assignment is “press box duties”. Many thanks to all the volunteers that already signed up! You may have noticed an adjustment to the SignUp genius, since the district changed the volunteer time from 10 am (NOT 7 am!) to 10 pm. As a result, we now only have 4 shifts! Yay! All of you that signed up for the 7 am to 10 am can now sleep in!

Reminder: All CCISD volunteers that check-in when they arrive for their shift get a wrist band which allow them into the stadium to watch performances throughout the day—a wonderful perk!
There are only 9 volunteer slots left for the Gulf Coast Contest! Don't miss your chance to ride the elevator to the press box and see what happens "behind the scenes." Most of the slots are in the 7 -10 pm range. I bet your shift will end early and what a great way to spend a Saturday night. Volunteer with a friend or make it a date with your spouse!


Chipotle Spirit Night NEXT Tuesday Night! October 26th
We are partnering with Chipotle's for Spirit Night and a delicious way to raise money!

All you need to do to ensure 33% of the proceeds is donated to the Falcon Band is show the fundraiser flyer (hard copy or on your phone) or tell the cashier at checkout that you are there for the Clear Lake High School Falcon Band fundraiser before you pay! If you don’t tell the cashier, we won’t get credit for the sale.

Fundraiser online ordering is only valid through from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm on October 26 at Chipotle's, 304 West Bay Area Blvd. Suite 600 in Webster.
Ordering delivery for fundraisers is not permitted at this time.
So, grab your family and friends for Spirit Night and help raise funds for our band! Guac on!

Area UIL Contest—CCISD is Again the HOST!!
The Area UIL Contest is Saturday, October 30th. Once again, CCISD is the host and all 5 high schools provide volunteers from 7 am to 10 pm. Thankfully, we have “press box duties” once again! If you had a conflict on 10/23, now is your chance to sign up and support CCISD and all the bands in our Area.
Mr. Pearce will fill us in later with all the details surrounding this event for the Clear Lake Falcon Band. For now, click on the SignUP Genius below to indicate how you can help. We need 6 volunteers for each of 5 shifts for a total of 30 volunteers.

Contacting Someone in FBBC Leadership
Thank you to all who attended our FFBC meeting last week! The minutes will be posted on our website. Joy King has stepped in as our new secretary!
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, November 11th at 7pm.
