All About Me

Joanne Gibbon
I am 30 years of age and knew I wanted to be a school teacher when I started teaching Dance at the age of 16.
I have been involved in the dance industry since I was 4 years of age, and have always found the rest rewarding things in life to be helping others and watching them succeed in something you've assisted with. Teaching is exactly the same. You are not just doing a job, you are helping to shape these young children and providing them with the necessary skills to make the best life decisions possible.
More About Me
I grew up in Adelaide, but have lived in Perth and Melbourne. Adelaide is definitely home for me now though. I have always been a very motivated individual and also very organised. I've found that these 2 skills in particular have helped me to achieve where I want to be in life. It will also be these skills that help me become the best teacher that I can possibly be.
“A teacher who loves learning earns the right and the ability to help others learn.”
The Love of my Life
This is Chayce Ella Gibbon, my 5 year old daughter. She is the motivation behind completing my teaching degree. I want to provide stability to our family as well as be able to have "Family" friendly working hours. At the moment I work evenings, and we spend limited quality time together and this is a must change, especially when it has only been the 2 of us for the last 4 an a half years. She is a beautiful natured little girl and everyone says she is a definite "mini me". My teaching degree has helped me help her now that she has started school. I recently completed my placement with a reception class, a big eye opening experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.
